Frequently asked questions
The main list is empty — is the app broken?
No. HealthBrowser only shows the data types that actually contain records on your device, so you're never faced with empty categories. If the Health app has no data yet, or you haven't granted read permission, the list will be empty. Add some data in the Health app, or check that access is enabled under Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Health Browser, then pull to refresh.
How do I grant or change permissions?
On first launch the app asks for read access to your health data through the standard iOS permission dialog. You can review or change exactly which data types are shared at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Health Browser. HealthBrowser only ever requests read access — it never writes to your Health data.
How do I export my data?
Open any data type and use the share button to export its records as a CSV file. You can also run a bulk export that combines all currently visible, filtered types into a single file. Exports are delivered through the standard iOS share sheet, so you can send them to Files, Mail, or any other app — ready for a spreadsheet, a script, or your own analysis.
Why does a large export take a moment?
High-volume types such as heart rate or step count can hold hundreds of thousands of records. HealthBrowser paginates and streams these safely to avoid running out of memory, so a very large export may take a few seconds to assemble. This is expected.
Where does my data go?
Nowhere except where you send it. HealthBrowser makes no network requests; all processing happens on-device. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.
Is HealthBrowser a medical device?
No. HealthBrowser is a viewer and exporter for data your iPhone has already recorded. It does not diagnose, treat, monitor, or prevent any medical condition, and it makes no measurements of its own. Always consult a qualified professional for medical decisions.
